…is a system to organize plants and animals around the world. This system uses specific attributes or characteristics to put plants and animals into groups.

Extend the lessons

Have the children create a list of other local animals that would also fit into each of the above categories. For example; salamander/amphibian, turtle/reptile, osprey/bird, fox/mammal
